For those who want to experience Bandai Namco’s Mario Kart VR arcade game, you can now play it in London soon. On August 3, the experience will be at Hollywood Bowl inside The O2 Arena. What separates this version of the game from other ones is its use of HTC Vive headsets and motion controls, so it is not just a first-person viewing experience. If a player wants to pick up an item, they have to actually reach out and grab it instead of driving through a question mark shaped box.
Bandai Namco’s move marks the second location of its VR experience, as of right now the only one of its kind is in its arcade in Tokyo. But London is not the only place in England where the experience will be available. After the launch at The O2 Arena, Bandai Namco will be taking its version of Mario Kart to Tunbridge Wells and the city of Leeds.
If you and your friends live in the UK or are traveling to it and would like to physically throw blue turtle shells at each other, you must reserve your spaces which you can do by visiting Hollywood Bowl’s website and contacting them. As far as how much it costs to play, the rate is £7.99 which is a little over $9. Where do you think Bandai Namco will be taking its arcade game after the UK? Comment below!
