Inti Creates–the developer behind numerous Mega Man titles, a game that was kind of like Mega Man but not really, and the best Castlevania game that wasn’t a Castlevania–has announced a winter release for its latest game, the Switch-exclusive Dragon Marked for Death. Like their other games, you can expect a colorful, fast-paced, action-packed game that will appeal to platform fanatics of consoles of yesteryear.
A group of warriors from the Dragonblood Clan–people “who possessed the powers of the Astral Dragon”–return home to find their village burned by the rulers of the land. Forging a pact with one of the astral dragons, the warriors Empress, Warrior, Shinobi, and Witch set forth to stomp those bad dudes with a number of unique powers.
So, yes, while the story doesn’t sound like it’s going to forge any new ground, that’s not why most folks are heading to a game like this. With RPG elements like hit points and leveling married to fast-paced, classic sidescrolling action, Dragon Marked for Death is poised to suck up a lot of free time for Switch owners later this year.
Who is excited for Dragon Marked for Death‘s release?

He’s written about local government, food, nightlife, Korean culture, craft beer, cycling trails, land preservation, video games and more. His love of gaming began with the Atari 2600 but truly came of age on the Super Nintendo. Looking forlornly at the staggering surplus of console and PC games yet to be played, he laments the long-ago days of only being able to buy one $70 32-megabyte cartridge and playing it until his hands ached.
