UPDATE: It seems the mistake has been corrected. Although Wario64 originally pointed the picture out on his Twitter, on our eShop screen the name is showing up correctly.
Were you looking forward to playing Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker on the Nintendo Switch? Well, it looks like Nintendo screwed up the spelling of its new Switch re-release on its eShop. No longer is his name “Captain Toad.” Instead, the Mario character goes by Capitan Todd. His newest game, Capitan Todd: Treasure Tracker has a demo up on the eShop.
We don’t really know why this spelling mistake exists. Perhaps in the Spanish language version of the title Captain Toad’s name might be Capitan Todd. If not, then this is quite the perplexing situation. Hopefully, Nintendo fixes up this situation soon. For now, though, I’ll be planning my new adventure with Capitan Todd.

Eli buys virtually every Nintendo title that comes out but has expanded his collection to include amiibo. He hasn’t taken them out of their boxes, though, so he might be a bit insane. When not playing video games, Eli likes writing about politics and games. He also runs a decent amount. Outside.
