Nintendo has recently filed for an interesting trademark in Japan. This trademark pertains to the Nintendo 64. Its description covers a variety of different things, namely: “TV game machine, controller for game machine, video game program and joystick for video game machine”. This trademark filing was uncovered by the folks over at Japanese Nintendo.
Unsurprisingly, this news has sparked talks of Nintendo potentially gearing up for another retro-revival in the vein of the NES and SNES Classic Editions—an N64 Classic Edition/Mini. If this is the case, then we could perhaps see an announcement at E3. It’s just a few weeks away, after all. But, this is merely all just speculation, not fact.
But, if an N64 Classic Edition does end up coming to fruition, what games would you like to see included? And also, would you rather play with a re-released N64 controller or a redesigned one that doesn’t have the weird alien shape?
Having been introduced to video games at the age of 3 via a Nintendo 64, A.K has grown up in the culture. A fan of simulators and racers, with a soft spot for Nintendo! But, he has a great respect for the entire video game world and enjoys watching it all expand as a whole.
