These days, it’s surprising to see any game come to the Wii U. But, this one in particular is even more surprising.
Aqua Moto Racing Utopia, the indie Wave Race clone, is actually coming to the Wii U in just a few days—April 19, to be exact. It was first announced for the system all the way back in 2014. It’s now been four years since then, and we all know how the Wii U’s situation has changed. The system has been discontinued and its sucessor, the Switch, has been on the market for over a year now. Even so, that clearly hasn’t stopped indie studio Zordix from bringing the game on over. Admittedly, the devs confirmed back in November that the game would still be coming to Wii U, but this is still rather surprising.

Additionally, Zordix is actually going to release the game on the Wii U eShop at the reduced price of $9.99 for a limited time.
Aqua Moto Racing Utopia is already avaliable on PC, PS4 and Switch. Our review of the Switch version was posted a few months ago, so you can check that out below.
