According to a recent report from Bloomberg, Nintendo will be partnering with Scrum Ventures for a program that is looking for “startups, teams within larger companies or university researchers developing new tools to improve the Nintendo Switch platform”.
This is a pretty interesting development, as it opens the door for all sorts of potentially cool new ideas. Bloomberg’s report confirms that the ideas collected will be pitched to Nintendo in the Fall. This indicates that it could be a little while before we actually see any of the ideas that come out of this project, but it’s good to know that things are underway.
There has already been a huge amount of third-party peripherals for the system (such as pictured above). What makes this new program with Nintendo different is that whatever hardware comes out of it will be tested and approved by Nintendo beforehand, which will give buyers peace of mind. What inventions are you hoping to see from this project?
