While some folks have complained about the Switch’s small amount of internal storage, it doesn’t look like that’s been much of an issue for Switch owners in the US.
Nintendo revealed an interesting detail about game sales on Switch during its recent Nindies event at GDC 2018. It turns out that, in the US, Switch owners are purchasing more games in digital form from the eShop rather than physical editions. This also applies to 3DS owners in the US as well.
Recognizing this strong trend, Nintendo has stated that it will be making improvements to the eShop which will allow for “better discoverability”. This is great news! Navigating the Switch eShop is alright, but it would definitely be a lot better with the growing number of games being separated into proper categories. While you’re at it Nintendo, can you also shunt all the shovelware games off into their own little dark corner? Or just stop allowing them to be released on the system at all? That’d be sweet.
