To fully complete this circle of sheer insanity that’s currently going on in the console industry, we have Atari coming out with a brand new system…24 years after the release of the last one. Why? I don’t know, ask Atari.
The company has been continuously holding back when it comes to sharing new details about the new system, with things like its price, release date and technical specifications still being kept under wraps. However, we do have a name and now even a complete look at its design.
This is the AtariBox:
Looks like the DNA of the legendary 2600 is still pumping through the new machine. I have to say, that wood design never gets old. But if you do rather something new, there’s also a red-black variant. The AtariBox sports 4 USB ports and an SD card slot. Of course, it will output via HDMI.
Atari has confirmed that both classic and modern titles will be on the new system. It will be very interesting to see what type of impact it will make in the market.
