It’s a great deal, but it also highlights the challenges Nintendo is facing with that product in the market. While Target and Gamestop immediately ran out of their initial batch of this same gaming bundle, we aren’t hearing the same news coming from the UK. Of course, as a general rule European gamers have to swallow a little markup to cover importing fees, even if the area is considered a major gaming market. The biggest UK game retailer, GAME is itself still selling the bundle at ₤ 250, which is around $ 400.
With that in mind, this is a tactically smart move for Shopto, and one other retailers may want to pick up on. Much like the 2DS discount from 2 weeks ago, this is a move calculated to sell more units, and considering how well it worked out for the 2DS, the same may do here. Nintendo also recently discontinued the Wii in Europe, and they may have felt they had to to bring attention to its successor.
If you’re one of our UK readers, let us know, would this make you want to buy the console now? It’s equivalent to around $ 320, and that’s with two games too. Let us know what you think in the comments below.
