Ubisoft CEO Yves Guillemot took the chance in a recent interview to explain why the Wii U won’t be getting the next Assassin’s Creed game, and went on to say what they see Wii U owners are more interested in.

“It’s very simple. What we see is that Nintendo customers don’t buy Assassin’s Creed. Last year, we sold in very small numbers.”

“What we see is that they are very interested in Just Dance, very interested by other kinds of games. So what we are trying to do is to focus more on the types of games they are interested in.”

When asked about the Watch Dogs situation, Yves went on to say the following.

“[Watch Dogs] is coming to Wii U. It will be the only mature game we publish on it.”

Judging by these comments, it seems that we won’t be seeing any more Assassin’s Creed or Splinter Cell games on the Wii U, which may end up being a missed opportunity.  Do you agree with Yves Guillemot’s assessment on the Wii U? Be sure to leave a comment below.
