On an updated Nintendo of Europe release schedule, showing very first, third-party release for both the Wii U and 3DS, a new listing for Tetris Ultimate for 3DS has emerged.

Tetris Ultimate 3DS

Tetris Ultimate was announced as a next generation Tetris game the week before E3 by Ubisoft. The game will feature six different game modes including Marathon, Battle, Power-Up Battle, Ultra, Endless and Spirit. When the game was announced, Ubisoft confirmed it would be coming to Playstation 4, PS Vita, Xbox One over the Summer & PC during the Fall. This listing from Nintendo is the first mention of a version heading to Nintendo platform, where the series made it’s name. It appears a Wii U version is not on the cards, but Ubisoft have confirmed that they have completed development of a new Wii U game but are withholding the release until sales pick up. The fact that the Wii U has sold more than the Xbox One and appears to have possibly turned a corner, makes this Ubisoft move as a bit of a head-scratcher.
