Nintendo and Masahiro Sakurai – director of the upcoming Super Smash Bros. games for Wii U and 3DS – are continuing their Smash Bros. Pic Of the Day promotion as we near the fall release. Today, a brand new mode was revealed: Target Blast.

This all-new mini-game combines the concepts of the Home Run contest and Target Smash. Your goal is to launch a ticking bomb and destroy targets and walls once it explodes. Though the picture indicates the mode is for 3DS, it is possible it will appear on Wii U, as well. What do you think? Excited to see this mode in-game, or will it be merely a small distraction from you destroying your friends in the real deal? Do you hope to see more mini-games this time around, or do you not really care about such things? And most importantly, can you wait until October to play the new Super Smash Bros.?!?
