Another top notch indie hits the Wii U

Steamworld Dig is a very popular indie game that combines elements of Metroid and Minecraft and puts them in a neat little package, and has gotten both critical and fan acclaim worldwide. The game saw a release on 3DS, along with other platforms, and was touted as one of the best indie games of 2013. The Wii U appeared to be left out in the cold, but it was confirmed today that Steamworld Dig will be hitting the Wii U eShop in the later part of August.

The official release date for Europe is August 28th, with the developer stating that it should release the same day in the US, give or take a day or two. This game is a fantastic indie title and Wii U owners should be very excited for it\’s release later in the month. Have you played Steamworld Dig on another platform?
