Yacht Club Games have confirmed via Twitter that they have finished development on their Wii U and 3DS eShop title, Shovel Knight. The game was originally given a March 31st 2014 release date back in January of this year, but in early March the developer pushed the game back by a few weeks as the game wasn\’t quite ready.

Shovel Knight made headlines last year as not only did it smash it\’s Kickstarter base goal of $75,000 but went on to smash all of it\’s stretch goals raising over $310,000 in the process! The debut game from ex-Wayforward team members, stars the titular Shovel Knight in a classic 8-bit inspired action adventure game. Shovel Knight may be small but he has a huge quest. Shovel Knight has two goals: to defeat the evil Enchantress and save his lost beloved. He wields the Shovel Blade: a multi-purpose weapon whose techniques expand throughout the game.
