Here’s a juicy new rumor to sink your teeth into, online co-op may be featured in Hyrule Warriors.

As with all rumors please be warned that this is just that, a rumor and may be a fabrication. The rumour states that not only will Hyrule Warriors feature an online co-op mode, but there are several classic characters yet to be revealed and the game will also allow players to build up their characters, by leveling up to unlock extra content.

In case you aren’t aware, Hyrule Warriors is a blend of Nintendo’s The Legend of Zelda series with Koei-Tecmo’s Dynasty Warriors series, featuring the well known characters and environments with the latter’s intense action. Several items from The Legend of Zelda series, such as the hookshot also appear. The game has been confirmed to feature DLC for new costumes, but this is the first rumblings of any further online functionality.

Hyrule Warriors is set to launch exclusively on the Wii U eShop on August 14th in Japan and on September 19th in Europe. North America receives the game last on September 26th.
