You might remember Niffias\’ as the guys who brought NightSky 3DS, a game we reviewed positively, now they are back with 2 new games coming to the Nintendo eShop.

Indie publisher Ripstone are pleased to announce their support for Nintendo eShop, making the award-winning Pure Chess and critically acclaimed Knytt Underground available on Wii U towards the end of 2013/start of 2014.

Nintendo fans will have already seen the Nintendo Direct update last week which highlighted a plethora of indie games heading to the Nintendo eShop.

Phil Gaskell, Co-Founder and Creative Director of Ripstone enthuses: \”We\’re committed to helping developers bring their games to as many digital channels as possible and this announcement demonstrates that commitment. We think Nintendo gamers are going to love spending hours exploring the world of Knytt Underground and will be blown away by the visual quality of Pure Chess, and we hope to announce more games for eShop in the future.\”

Pure Chess is being developed for both Wii U & Nintendo 3DS by the talented team at VooFoo Studios, and aims to reflect the beauty and depth of the widely respected game. Chess is one of the world’s most played, popular and recognized games and to reflect this, Pure Chess was developed with the aid of a chess Grandmaster, the highest title a chess player can attain. The game aims to appeal to a wide audience with various tutorials to allow beginners to take part, improve their chess skills and become a Grandmaster in their own right.

Knytt Underground is the brainchild of Nicklas ‘Nifflas’ Nygren and is being developed for the Wii U platform by Mathias Kærlev; you can also vote for Knytt Underground on Steam Greenlight. The game puts you in the shoes of Mi – a mute, but extraordinary sprite; with an array of thrilling quests to complete, unique zen-like gameplay and plenty of dynamic characters to meet and guide you on your adventure; Knytt Underground delivers a captivating and unparalleled experience that will not disappoint.

Both Pure Chess and Knytt Underground are currently available on the PlayStation®Network for PS3 and PS Vita.
