In a recent interview, the president of Nintendo of America, Reggie Fils-Aime, said that he believes that Amiibo can greatly help Wii U sales. He then when on to say that Nintendo will begin launching Amiibo during holiday 2014, then continue to release new figurines throughout 2015. Reggie also believes that Amiibo is a very promising business opportunity.

We will continue to make new figures available through the balance of holiday 2014 and then we’re going to continuously launch new figures throughout 2015. For us, we’re not putting a numerical limit on how many varied figures we can launch. Our potential catalogue of figures in the space is quite broad
