Atlus has announced the release date for Persona Q: Shadow of the Labyrinth. The dungeon-crawling Persona game will be released exclusively on the Nintendo 3DS on the 25th of November, the Tuesday right before Thanksgiving.

Persona Q is not your typical Persona game as it draws inspiration from another Atlus franchise: Atrian Odyssey. While the game does feature characters from both Persona 3 and Persona 4, the exploration is pure Etrian Odyssey. Players will navigate dungeons in a first-person perspective while drawing their own maps of the dungeon using a grid-based map making system on the bottom screen. The game developers even consulted the Etrian Odyssey developers when creating the game.

This is the first Persona game to release on a Nintendo platform, but numbers released from Japan indicate that the game is already performing well. In its first week on sale, Persona Q sold nearly 200,000 units in Japan, taking the first place during its launch week.
