Nintendo’s newest development building opened on Wednesday. This building will house not only software, but also hardware development teams, although hardware will be the primary focus of the building. There are roughly 1,000 people working in the building from hardware development, and about 100 people working in the building for software development.

The building is also pretty large, although only a third of a kilometer away from the new head office building, the new office is about 50,000  square meters (538,000 square feet) total and is seven stories tall.

It seems like this may be the location where the new integrated console/handheld team will now work, and where all the new hardware from Nintendo will be produced. Hopefully the investment will pay off for the company, as Nintendo spent 19 billion yen ($186 million) to open the building.
