Throughout the past several weeks there has been quite a bit of confusion as to how the Bayonetta 2 free game promotion would work. At E3 Nintendo said that those who purchase Bayonetta 2 at retail would receive a download code for the original Bayonetta. Then, the official Nintendo website said that those who buy Bayonetta 2 digitally would get the original game at a discount, not free. Nintendo has now come out and clarified the whole situation, and it’s not nearly as complicated as everyone thought. Those who buy the game physically will get an extra disc with the original Bayonetta game on it. Those who buy the game digitally will get a digital code for the first game.

Hopefully in the future there will not be nearly as much confusion when Nintendo does awesome promotions, but nevertheless it seems like no matter which version of the game you buy, those who purchase Bayonetta 2 will be getting the original Bayonetta for free.
