Nintendo of Europe have registered two trademarks for videogames and NFC enabled devices titled Pokken Fighters and Pokken Tournament. These names may sound familar to some as they have previously be trademarked in Japan and most recently North America in August.

The trademarks also include the titles use in keychains, boardgames, game cards, action figures, trading card games and entertainment services, namely, production, presentation, distribution and syndication of animation, motion picture films and television programs.

The popular theory amongst gamers as to what this game or games may turn out to be is a mysterious Pokemon-related fighting game which was teased at last year’s Pokemon Game Show in Japan. You can check out this tease in the video below if you skip to the 2:13 mark. Should Pokken Fighters or Pokken Tournament turn out to be a Wii U or perhaps even a 3DS game, expect Nintendo to announce it during their Nintendo Digital Event which will be streamed online on June 9th at 9am PT.
