Web version gets brought more up to speed

Marty from Nintendo of Europe has today announced two new updates to the Miiverse social gaming network.

The first update brings two new features to the web version, effectively bringing it in more line with Nintendo 3DS and Wii U versions. You can now see  the “Posts from Verified Users” icon at the top of the “Communities” section, which lists only posts from from verified users, such as publishers, developers, or other industry executives. Secondly, you can now search for communities by software title via the community search function.

This update doesn’t bring Miiverse for the web fully in line with the other platforms however, as you still cannot post new content without a Nintendo 3DS or Wii U.

The second update introduces about a three-minute window before users are able to reply to a post again. This new restriction will not apply posts made by user’s own posts, where they can comment as often as they’d like.

Since the update was made, over 1000 comments have been left with seemingly the vast majority of them showing disapproval of Nintendo’s new restriction.

Miiverse user Joscha (gameonion)
Worst update ever.

Miiverse user Bigley (PSTPBackup)
This is the worst update Miiverse has ever had. I didn’t mind the post restriction, but comments? Seriously? Are we gonna have to wait 3 freaking minutes for people to respond if you’re chatting or RPing?

Miiverse user MITCH-80 (M1TCH-80)
Well thats stupid. Your making miiverse worse, not better. Do you understand what people actually want?

Back in January, Nintendo president Satoru Iwata detailed plans to distribute a new Wii U firmware update that would institute a new fast start-up menu in “early summer”.
