PDP, the industry leader in peripherals and accessories for major video game platforms have revealed a new line-up of Mario-themed Gamecube-inspired controllers at this year’s Electronic Entertainment Expo in Los Angeles. These new controllers are designed similar to the Wii U’s Classic Controller Pro which is tethered to a Wii Remote or Wii Remote Plus, which then wireless connects to the Wii U console.

There are three designs on show, alongside the recently released Mario, Yoshi & Peach Wii Remote Plus’ are set to launch in North America just in time for the release of Super Smash Bros For Wii U this holiday season. It is currently unknown if PDP plan to release a blue and green Luigi themed GameCube controller, to match the Luigi Wii Remote Plus which launched alongside the Mario one late last year.

Nintendo also announced plans themselves yesterday to rerelease the official GameCube controller with Super Smash Bros branding alongside the game, and a another peripheral known as the GameCube Adapter which allows four GameCube or Wavebird controllers to connect to a Wii U console.
