Some interesting news is coming out from those who happened to get a hold of Mario Kart 8 early. Although it is by no means unexpected, as Nintendo has been content ID-ing most Nintendo videos in the past few months, it turns out that any user-uploaded Youtube videos for Mario Kart 8 will be content ID\’d as well.

WOW, apparently when you upload Mario Kart 8 videos with that new MKTV application, all the videos immediately get Content ID\’d. I can\’t.

So in other words, Nintendo is using all of us YouTubers as their own merchandising tool, without giving us a cent. **** you, then. — Wallid Kanaan (@BalrogTheMaster) May 1, 2014

#Nintendo will make TONS of MONEY with auto claiming on ALL #MarioKart8 vids on #YouTube ..(with only ONE game alone) — NiNTENDOMiNATiON (@TiLMEN) May 1, 2014

It seems like Nintendo has a back up plan in place just in case Mario Kart 8 does not sell to expectations, as many people are sure to upload their user-created content to Youtube.

Will you be uploading your videos to Youtube? Were you expecting a share of the profit? Make sure to let us know your thoughts on Nintendo\’s actions in the comments section below!
