With Mario Kart 8 Deluxe arriving this April on the Nintendo Switch, the website Techno Buffalo has learned some new details regarding the console’s performance.

Nintendo answered the following thing:

When docked, Mario Kart 8 Deluxe will run at 60fps in 1080p. It will hold that resolution when docked no matter what. When split-screen with two players, the game will maintain that 60fps in 1080p performance; but, it will drop to 30fps in 1080p when three or four players come in for split-screen local.

Mario Kart 8 ran at the same FPS on the Wii U, but at a lower resolution (720p), so the new “numbers” feel pretty accurate. The previous version of Mario Kart was also dropping the FPS to 30 while playing with three to four players in split-screen local.

Aside from performance info, Mario Kart 8 Deluxe has been showcased of during PAX East, with Nintendo focusing on game’s Battle Mode. You can check out Shine Thief and Renegade Roundup, below.

When Hektor isn’t playing something on his video game consoles, he probably listens to his favorite music. He prefers to spend his money on classic games and rare music albums instead of spending it on alcohol and strippers. If his wallet wants a break from this expensive hobby, he watches his favorite two soccer teams on TV. He thinks that Zelda Ocarina of Time, Final Fantasy VII and Half-Life 2 are the greatest games of ALL time.
