Activision have announced plans to revive the Kings Quest franchise after recently reviving the series original creator Sierra.
Kings Quest is a graphical adventure series originally created bySierra Entertainment It is considered a classic-series from the golden era of adventure games alongside Monkey Island and Loom . The King’s Quest series chronicles the saga of the royal family of the Kingdom of Daventry through their various trials and adventures. The first game arrived in 1984, and the most recent was released in 1998. Kings Quest V: Absence Makes The Heart Go Yonder! was released in 1990 for the NES. Featuring a significant improvement in graphics through the use of VGA. It was also the first installment to replace the typing user interface with a point-and-click user interface. King’s Quest V sold 500,000 copies and won several awards.
Activision and Sierra have yet to reveal which platforms they are considering for this revival, but if you’d like to see it land on a Nintendo platform, it’d be best to make your voice heard!
