A lighthearted party racing game, featuring speedy ninjas, playful hijinks, and that sweet, sweet taste of first-place victory.

Project Tanuki is currently seeking funding on Kickstarter for the grand sum of $25,000 and currently has a full month to raise this. As with several campaigns the base goals only currently include PC, Mac & Linux but a series of stretch goals have already been announced

  • $120,000 Wii U
  • $140,000 PS4
  • $160,000 Xbox One
  • $180,000 3DS
  • $200,000 PSV

Project Tanuki is bill as a “high-speed battle racing game where up to eight competitors engage in an extended footrace.”  The levekls themselves are largely two-dimensional, which may seem somewhat unconventional for racetracks which will play host to various walls, gaps, blocks, and other inanimate obstacles. Courses can be looped courses or sometimes even linear in structure, both horizontal and vertical in orientation. It’s not as simple as just racing however as monsters and bosses will also appear in the game. Players will be able to hinder each other using their basic attacks, special abilities, and collected items. Each selectable character will have different attriubtes in accordance to their speed, strength, and stamina. The previously mentioned items are transformative power-ups called blessings (which will be selected prior to beginning a race) in handling dicey situations!
