Ring Runner recently launched their Kickstarter campaign for Popup Dungeon, a unique papercraft RPG which could now be coming to the Wii U.

The developer cites feedback from backers as well as loving the Wii U themselves as the cause of altering their development priorities, as today they announced a Wii U stretch goal. Their first idea about how to use the Wii U’s unique capabilities is “having the Deungeon Master play on the controller’s screen while the adventurers play on the television”.

Again, thanks to your feedback, we’ve altered our development priorities and begun the process of becoming official Wii U developers. We own a Wii U ourselves and would love to bring Popup Dungeon to the system. Obviously, the prospect of having the Dungeon Master play on the controller’s screen while the adventurers play on the main monitor/television is tantalizing!

We’ll do our best to make this happen, but for the time being, it must remain a stretch goal.

The campaign only just launched and has a full 27 days remaining. So far Ring Runner have raised $30,000 of a $80,000 base with the Wii U stretch goal sitting at $100,000. It’s certainly looking like we will be adding yet another exciting and unique game to the Wii U’s enormous indie library soon.
