Graphite Lab, the indie developer behind the promising-looking sci-fi action platformer Hive Jump have confirmed that the game has successfully smashed it’s base funding goal. Hive Jump was originally seeking $50,000 to ensure the game saw release on the Wii U eShop as well as PC, Mac & Linux. The campaign still has just over thirty hours at time of writing to reach any stretch goals.

Thanks to you, Hive Jump reached its funding goal this morning (and special thanks to @tecnophi for being the final backer that pushed us over the top!) We are simply ecstatic to have this support from each and every one of you. You’ve kept us pumped and encouraged every step of the way. Thank you!!!

The game is billed as a sci-fi action-platformer for 1-4 players, blending run and gun gameplay with tactical strategy. Set in the 24th century, humanity is at war with an alien race who outnumbers us a million to one! The only hope lies in a team of commandos known as the J.U.M.P Corps. Players and up to three friends assume the roles o these Jumpers, as they blast their way through subterranean hives, killing enemies, avoiding traps and collecting resources. When they reach the bottom there’ll be an angry queen ready to unleash all out hell for killing her offspring.

I’m the Developer Liaison at Nintendo Enthusiast, and when I’m not working my butt off at the toy store I manage, I’m talking with developers from around the world, promoting crowd-funding campaigns, conducting interviews and also offering advice and support to developers looking to bring their games to Wii U & 3DS.
