Dr. Eggman’s fearsome forces have tailed Sonic the Hedgehog to the Super Smash Bros. universe. Now you’ve got a new enemy to deal with as you traverse the Smash Run obstacle course – Dr. Eggman’s robotic doppelgangers join the enemy cast in Smash Run on Super Smash Bros. for 3DS.

Pic of the day. Here’s Dr. Eggman’s machine, Eggrobo. It’ll appear as a guest character in Smash Run and attack you with laser beams.

Dodge those lasers and get in with a Smash attack to destroy these mechanical menaces! They fly around with back-mounted jetpacks and fire away with a big laser rifle. It’s worth the risk, however, as a successful kill will land you a lot of crucial power-ups to enhance your fighter before the grand finale.

The Eggrobo will join the multitudes of enemy characters present in Smash Run, a new mode available only on the 3DS version of the new Super Smash Bros. iteration. In Smash Run, you’ll fight off other Smashers and hordes of familiar enemies to gain power-ups. You’ll be wishing you grabbed more power-ups when its all over, as those power-ups carry over and boost your stats for the deciding free-for-all

As evidenced with today’s update, it seems as if even every individual enemy in Smash Run will be getting a trophy. I wonder if we’ve seen trophies for other Smash Run enemies already, or possibly trophies indicative of some other future reveals, too.

What do you think about this new Smash Run enemy? Sound off in the comments. Let us know what you think about this new enemy and the possibilities of other appearances in this new and exciting mode for Smash 3DS!
