Fresh new details about the latest Wii U exclusive announced yesterday at E3 have emerged including word of a level editor.
Tomonobu Itakagaki (Ninja Gaiden) shocked the world yesterday after the Nintendo Digital Event as he appeared on stage alongside the IGN team who had netted the exclusive reveal of his latest game Devil’s Third as it was announced that the game would be coming to the Wii U as an exclusive.
The game’s story is based on the Kessler Syndrome Theory, where the Earth’s satellites have been destroyed, causing a war to erupt around the world taking the game to varied locations including America, Europe & Asia. Devils Third is a mish-mash of different genres including third-person shooting, first-person shooting, melee combat, competitive online multi-player and even packs in a level editor! Itagaki has revealed that the game is roughly 80% complete, and that he is working on adding a final level of polish to the game before it releases towards the end of the year.
The game had a tumultuous development as it was originally in development for the PS3 and Xbox 360 with THQ handling publishing duties. When THQ entered insolvency Combat Arms stepped in to help bring the game to market but since this announcement the game had not been seen. It is expected that it was at this stage that Nintendo entered the fray and offered their experience, and of course money, to help the game finally release similar to the story of Bayonetta 2.
