Zen Studios would like to wish everyone a Happy Holidays and, with it, a new announcement. CastleStorm will be arriving on the Nintendo Wii U eShop on December 26th in both North America and Europe. The idea of CasltleStorm came from the teams childhood memories of  building LEGO castles and smashing them to pieces.

In CastleStorm, Knights are pitted against Vikings in this super genre mashup of 2D physics destruction and tower defense brawler. Controlling the battle in real time, players will harness the power of medieval artillery, manage a fearsome ground attack, and cast powerful spells. CastleStorm features a story-driven solo campaign, a custom castle editor, online multiplayer, co-op modes, and more.

CastleStorm makes full use of the Nintendo Wii U Gamepad, which mirrors the action being displayed on the TV allowing the game to be fully playable on the GamePad without a TV. There is full touch control on the GamePad, except multi-touch functionalities like pinch-zoom. All functionality is available without touch as well, using the sticks and action buttons. In local multiplayer, one player uses the Pro Controller and looks at the TV, the other player uses the GamePad and plays on the Gamepad screen, so both players see a full screen image.
