Persona Q: Shadow of the Labyrinth is not your average Persona game. Although the game will feature persona characters, the gameplay will be much more similar to Etrian Odyssey. Due to the gameplay differences to the mainline games in the series, Atlus has released a Q & A which answers any questions that new players of the genre may have.

The main new detail from the Q & A is that Persona Q will have a “safety” mode for new players. This mode grants players more experience, and allows players to retry battles after dying. This mode is meant for newer players to the genre. Also, for those who are not confident in their own mapping, the game will provide an auto-map feature.

Additionally, Atlus revealed that although parts of the game will be voice acted, not all parts will be. Main events and cut-scenes have voice acting, but many of the other parts of the game do not.
