FIFA 14 Announced For Wii And 3DS

EA has recently announced FIFA 14 during their E3 2013 conference and just when you thought that their support of the Wii U couldn’t get any worse, it does, with EA deciding to release the sequel to FIFA 13 not on the Wii U, but for Wii (and 3DS). Specifically:

EA Press Release: FIFA 14developed at EA Canada, will release worldwide within the next 12 months on Xbox One and the PlayStation 4, and is available for pre-order** now online and other retailers. A version of FIFA 14 will also release on the Xbox 360® games and entertainment system with Kinect™ from Microsoft, PlayStation®3 computer entertainment system with PlayStation Move support, Windows® PC, Nintendo Wii™, Nintendo 3DS™, PlayStation®Vita handheld entertainment system, PlayStation®2 computer entertainment system, and PSP® (PlayStation®Portable) system in North America on September 24 and worldwide on September 27.FIFA 14 on mobile will be available on iPhone®, iPad®, and iPod® touch as well as Android devices this fall. Other mobile platforms will be revealed later.”

This act, however, does go in line with EA’s previous statements about the benefit they see in supporting systems where they believe an audience is existent so we can at least give them points for consistency.

Hungry for More Smash Bros? Give This 77-Stage Project M Demo a Go

E3 is just around the corner and news on the upcoming Super Smash Bros 4 for Wii U and 3DS is just as close. For those hungry for more Smash, popping in Melee, Brawl, or even Smash 64 may not do the trick after all these years. Thanks to a dedicated group of modders, however, satisfying that hunger just got a lot easier.

Project M, a fan-made Brawl modification meant to put a Melee-like spin on the 2008 Smash Bros installment initially released on the Wii, is better than ever with a free-to-download edition of the game in progress filled to the brim with 77 stages to choose from. The experience, while building on the greatness of Melee alongside the best features of Brawl, feels entirely new – characters play differently, even familiar stages have been given refreshing new takes. With a competitive focus in mind while still being accessible to casual players, Project M is a Smash Bros experience you can’t miss out on.

If you have a copy of Brawl, a Wii, an SD card, and a computer, you’re already on your way to diving into a crazy new Smash experience. The Reddit thread sourced below contains all the needed information to get Project M working properly on your home console.

Project M continues to progress every day and is becoming an established part of competitive Smash tournaments every weekend. Remember, this is not an official Nintendo product and can only be downloaded off the internet (for free and without any fear of viruses) and will only work with official copies of Brawl. If you do decide to skip this one, Nintendo has confirmed that Smash 4 will indeed be part of their E3 Nintendo Direct event.

Target Marks Down Wii and 3DS Title Prices Again

Target has once again hit the “target” of Nintendo fans once again by wiping down the original prices of some pretty awesome games.  The incredible price of only $14 has hit 3DS games likes Resident Evil: Revelations, Star Fox 64 3D, Tetris 3D, and Street Fighter IV 3D to name a few.  Two more awesome titles are Metroid Other M and The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword for the Wii. Other M is going for only $9 and Skyward Sword for $19.  Ready, aim, and fire your arrow to Target because these games could be gone in a flash.

*This source was from Australia so make sure to check with your local Target to see if they are having these on sale.

Super Mario Accessory Box Available At Club Nintendo

We reported on the removal of two Club Nintendo items in Europe last week, and now it appeared that there is a new entry in the “Get Games & Rewards” catalogue.

Although the fresh “Super Mario Accessory Box” was included on the US based Club Nintendo service, the removals and additions of old and new prizes might be connected to each other. Don’t forget that E3 is moving closer each day…

So, keep an eye open on the different Club Nintendo Prize-Catalogues in the following weeks because it might get really interesting.

You can check below another picture of this nice Accessory Box to get a better idea of its size (unfortunately, you won’t get the accessories and the games that are visible on that image).

No More SNES Classic Controller Wii?

This week we noticed a small but important change on Club Nintendo’s European Stars Catalogues. One of the best rewards, the SNES Classic Controller for the Wii, was not listed anymore among the other goodies.

We reached out to the German Club Nintendo support service to see if this removal is permanent or just an out of stock case:

“When and if the SNES Classic Controller will ever be available again on our catalogue is something that we don’t know at this moment.”

So it seems that there is no clear information about the future of the availability of this rare controller. The SNES Classic Controller was perfectly suited for playing on the Wii’s Virtual Console and was very popular among gamers. It’s “price” was nevertheless pretty high (7,000 stars) and that made it a hard-to-get reward.

Another interesting thing about this removal is the fact that the Mario Kart Mushroom Trophy has also dissappeared from the listings this week.

Could it be just a coincidence or a simple matter of stock? Or is Nintendo preparing new entries for the European Stars Catalogue now that the E3 is getting closer? We’ ll let you know when we get an update on this story in the following weeks.
