While Super Smash Bros. Ultimate was the big thing at Nintendo’s E3 conference on Tuesday, what came before it carried big news as well. Nintendo announced those who purchase the Pokeball Plus for its upcoming Pokemon: Let’s Go titles will get access to Mew. While fans of the Pokemon franchise now know what comes with the controller, its price is still unknown. As well as its pre-order date.
The new controller has more than one function. Players can also use it to navigate menus, and move within the game itself. It also lights up, vibrates, and makes unique sounds. Plus like a regular Joy-Con it is completely portable.
Being able to take it on the go adds another dimension for its use. Pokemon GO. Those who play the popular mobile game no longer have to use their smartphones while playing. If any of the catchable characters are nearby, the Pokeball Plus’ sensors and lights will alert you.
Also, it will count your steps allowing you to hatch eggs and collect candy. All you need to do is connect it to your smartphone and Pokemon GO! app.
When it comes to the time needed for it to completely charge, it takes three hours to do so. As we get closer to release, it will be interesting to see if legendary Pokemon like Lugia and Entei find their way into the Let’s Go series. Pokemon: Let’s Go Pikachu!, Let’s Go! Eevee and the Pokeball Plus will all be available on November 16th.
Update: The Pokeball Plus will cost $50. There will also be a $100 bundle which includes the game and the ball.
