Nintendo recently filed 9 trademarks for “downloadable video game programs,” including for a franchise we haven’t seen in quite some time.
Along with titles including Dillon’s Dead-Heat Breakers, Luigi’s Mansion, Mario & Luigi, Metroid, Metroid Prime, Smash Bros., and WarioWare, Nintendo filed a trademark for Wario Land. This is the second time Wario Land has been trademarked within the last year, which leads some to believe a new installment is planned for Switch.
Along with the possibility of a new game, ports of older titles on the Switch eShop could happen as well. Wario Land is a franchise Nintendo hasn’t touched in a decade, but their hit hybrid console is definitely a great platform for the series.
