“Nice one!” “Siiick!” “Nice moves!” “Wow!” – Chat disabled for 3 seconds –
I’m sure we’ve all been there; spamming the quick chat options in Rocket League when something awesome and/or terribly unexpected happens. Now those moments will soon be able to be captured and shared with the world when the video capture feature comes to the Switch edition of the game this Spring.
Psyonix, the studio behind Rocket League, released an extensive roadmap yesterday detailing the future of the game’s development. One part of it is a big update coming in April that has some Switch-specific features. It will add performance and visual quality updates and options. For some reason, Psyonix didn’t mention the addition of video capture in this roadmap article, but it was instead mentioned in a post about the Switch update on Reddit, a developer from Psyonix confirmed that video capture support is coming and will most likely be included in the aforementioned Spring update in April:
This is great news! I actually tweeted about how I wished this feature would come to the Switch version a few weeks ago, so I’m happy to see that Psyonix is finally adding it in.
In related news, a recent update to the Switch Edition of Minecraft also added in video capture support.
