After being on the market for a mere 9 months, the Nintendo Switch has already sold more in Japan than Wii U.
From December 2012 to December 2017, Wii U sold 3.3 million units. From March 2017 to December 2017, 3.3 million Switches were sold.
On one hand, this is incredibly impressive. It goes to show just how well Switch is selling. But on the flip side, this statistic also proves just how unpopular Wii U was.
It’s great to see Nintendo on top again. It was only a matter of time until the sleeping giant innovated and created a product that the market would turn to.
