‘SteamWorld Dig 2’ Sold Nearly 10 Times Better on Nintendo Switch Than Steam

written by Aric Sweeny November 29, 2017

The Nintendo Switch has been a success overall, but its indie support has been incredible since March. While a slew of indie games were announced for the platform pre-release, it’s seemingly getting new indie titles daily, or weekly, at that. A reason for this is the tremendous success that these games have on the console. In fact, it was just revealed that Steamworld Dig 2 sold nearly 10x more on Switch than Steam of all platforms.

“Steamworld Dig 2 has been our most successfull launch to date. We have sold almost ten times more units on Switch than we have on Steam. So. go figure. The Switch is really, really popular it seems.”

That, and it’s also much better curated I think than Steam’s. Matter of fact, as I’ve been told, Steam is a complete mess. To put a game in there now, is to throw your finest art in a junkyard, and hope somebody gets curious enough to dive in!

About Us

Who are these Nintendo fanboys?

We specifically called ourselves ‘Nintendo Enthusiast’ for a reason. We believe you can be passionate about a game company while being honest about reality and without being blind to their faults. When you’re excited about a company, it’s hard to remain completely impartial but we try our best. If a game deserves a bad review, we’ll give it a bad review. If we think Nintendo made a bad move, we won’t hesitate to say it. However, we usually do hope Nintendo will succeed alongside the rest of the industry.
