Four great games are receiving a temporary price cut
G-Style will put all of their Nintendo 3DS Download games on sale for a period of two weeks over Easter.
Starting April 12 and ending April 27, Nintendo 3DS owners can pick up Crazy Construction, Chain Blaster, Undead Bowling, Jump Trials Supreme for the sale price of $2.99 a piece. That\’s four dollars down from their initial prices of up to $6.99.
In my review of Chain Blaster, I praised the game for pleasures such as being \”immediately admirable\” and providing of skill-based challenge opposed to an artificial one, ultimately awarding the game with a high score of 7.5. That all didn\’t come without some harsh criticism, as I found the game to be repetitive and content deficient, among other things, ultimately condemning the game with a low score of 5.5. Despite this, I still recommended readers to buy the game, and for $2.99, this game is a steal.
\”Chain Blaster is truly an entertaining experience of chain-blasting fun,\” I said in my closing statement of my Chain Blaster review. \”Sure, there are obvious amounts of improvements that could be made, such as including a basic tutorial and having each stage be unique, but there is very little that actually prevents you from enjoying the game. In my opinion, any shooter that has gameplay deep enoguh to allow you to get into ‘the zone’ is worth your time and money — if you’re a fan of the genre, of course.\”
As for Jump Trails Supreme, our own Elia Pales praised the game for delights such as having lots of content, being and having crisp controllers, among other things, ultimately awarding the game with a high score of 9.5. Despite this, he criticized the game for its bland visuals, maddening difficulty, and lacking a story, ultimately causing him to rate the game a low score of 5. After all was said and done, he awarded the game with a final score of 8.5.
\”This isn’t a traditional platformer and it’s not a mini-game,\” said Elia in his closing statement in his Jump Trails Supreme review. \”It’s a full-on mind-destroying platformer that will leave your brain hurting, your blood pressure rising, your foul mouth flying, and your anger building. Honestly, I wouldn’t have had it any other, though; this is an amazing game with deep replay value and a simple, but crisp, style that is well worth the $3.99 asking price. If you crave a challenge and enjoying platforms, Jump Trials Supreme is an eShop title for the 3DS that shouldn’t be passed up.\”
Elia also reviewed Undead Bowling, where, among other things, he praised the game for being mindless fun and making good use of the Nintendo 3DS\’s glasses-free 3D capabilities, ultimately awarding the game with a high score of 7.5. Unfortunately, he also help there was a lack of content and that the music was awful, among other things, and condemned the game with a low score of 6. After all was said and done, he rated the game with a final score of 6.5.
\”Undead Bowling isn’t very deep, or very long, but it can be a blast to play for the first one or two playthroughs,\” said Elia in his closing statment in his Undead Bowling review. \”Unfortunately, due to the nature of the game, players will find the title stale after the first few hours. The price of the game makes Undead Bowling an even harder purchase decision. Standing at $7, the game holds a heftier price tag than most of the other games on the eShop. Some gamers will have fun with the simple premise, but most others will be put off by its lack of depth and price.\”
But hey, now that the game is $2.99, it might actually be worth your while to pick up, along with Chain Blaster or Jump Trails Supreme of course. Let us know what your decision is in the comments below!
