During today\’s 3rd-quarter earnings briefing, Nintendo announced plans to bring Nintendo DS games to the Wii U Virtual Console. This is quite the interesting development, since the two screen design of the Nintendo DS is very, very similar to the two screen approach of the Wii U console.
Details are scarce on this new addition to the Virtual Console service. Any mention of games, other than Brain Age, that would be coming to the Virtual Console was not present. Furthermore, there was a lack of any price announcement at the earnings briefing. Nintendo also did not announce when this new feature to the Virtual Console would role out, other than saying that it was coming sometime in the future.
This new Virtual Console announcement is very exciting, as it will open the Wii U to the expansive catalog of Nintendo DS games. This also may mean that Nintendo may be one step closer to emulating other consoles, such as the GBA, on the Wii U Virtual Console.
What are your thoughts on this new announcement? Are you ready to play some DS classics on the Wii U? What price would be reasonable for DS games? Make sure to let us know your thoughts in the comments section below!
