This morning Nintendo revealed their Fiscal 2013 financial results where they discussed their return to profitability for both Net and Ordinary income. Operating Income has remained negative, but they then detail their plans to return to full profitability for the next year….
During the next several months, Nintendo expects to launch new titles in the Mario Kart (Wii U), Super Mario Bros. (Wii U), Wii Fit (Wii U), Pikmin (Wii U), The Legend of Zelda (Wii U and Nintendo 3DS), Mario & Luigi (Nintendo 3DS) and Pokémon (Nintendo 3DS) franchises.
As you can see Nintendo clearly state that Mario Kart, Super Mario Bros and The Legend of Zelda are all launching in the next several months. Nintendo had previously only confirmed that new entries in the Mario and Mario Kart series would be presented in full at E3 in June, this is the first time they\’ve made any mention of release date.
As for The Legend of Zelda for the Wii U, this will be the HD re imagining of The Legend of Zelda: Wind Waker, previously announced in the Nintendo Direct in February. They revealed then that this title would be ready by year\’s end, as a stop guard for the real Zelda title we are all waiting for which is set to reinvent the series.
It is wise to remember, before you get too excited that this report is all about the financial year 13/14 which finishes on March 31st 2014, soo by no means expect all titles by the end of the year, they have to have something to launch after Christmas.
