Capcom today confirmed that playable demos for Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate on the Wii U and 3DS are available now for free in their respective eShops. The demo showcases the games single player and will feature two full quests, one for beginners and another for more experienced hunters. The demo also includes 12 different weapon options for players to choose for their battle. Players will have to brave the elements of the frozen tundra against the fierce Lagombi and take the fight against the aquatic Plesioth on land AND in water!
Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate is the definitive version of the game originally released for the Wii. Players take on the role of a hunter sent to explore a settlement within the Monster Hunter universe, completing quests on their journey to seek and slay monsters while improving their skills and earning equipment upgrades. The game features many challenging monsters and over 200 quests, the latest addition is set to be the most expansive offering to date.
The game can be played alone and offers a numerous multi-player set-up options: online (up to 4 players) on the Wii U system, or locally using up to 4 Nintendo 3DS. The game even allows a combination of up to 3 Nintendo 3DS systems and 1 Wii U system for a real hunting party!
Capcom encourages Hunters to test their skills now, as the full game will hit stores in North America on March 19th and across Europe on March 22nd.
Editor\’s Opinion: I was never a huge fan of Monster Hunter Tri on the Wii – I gave up after four hours and hadn\’t even gone on my first hunt! Having played the demo today on the Wii U the game is back on my radar. It looked beautiful and crisp in 1080p, and I successfully defeated the Lagombi, or as I called him… the snow rabbit! I may consider picking up the Wii U game after all, especially as I will be able to play online with the other NE editors!
