The 10 Most Misunderstood Wii Games
Series by Mike D., Introduction by Menashe
The Wii rests on its death bed. It has had a proud and productive life. It should not be ashamed of itself. With its weaker power it still managed to stand apart and ahead of the competition. In less than a month it will be superseded and rendered obsolete by a newer, younger, heir-to-the-Nintendo-throne: the Wii U. It will be placated by the fact that it lay down the groundwork that led to the Wii U. In fact, the Wii U carries its name within its own. As gamers who were shaped and altered by the experiences over the past five years with the Wii, we\’d like to pay tribute to this holiest of plastic white boxes before its time has officially come to be laid to rest.
This series of articles ran through September 2011 until February 2012, taking a look at some of the Wii\’s less appreciated games that deserved a second chance. Last night, over the course of many hours, we drafted a final Top 30 Wii Games list and ordered them according to our judgement. While we write up the descriptions for those games and ready that article for circulation, we decided to bring back this article for those who never read it. Enjoy!
(We also want to mention the passing of one of our dear editors, Derek Jasper, who helped write parts of this series. We can\’t do justice to his memory here, but at least let his written words be remembered while we think of how to honor his name in the most fitting manner.)
