‘Project Sweat’ Starts Campaign, Wii U Stretch Goal Set at £45k

Project Sweat is the lastest indie title to start a Kickstarter campaign in order to raise funds. The game is a 2D action-RPG which hopes to blend an “addictive, challenging and fast-paced combat system in a seamless multi-layered environment”.

Developed in London, by Humid Games, the initial funding goal is set at £25,000, with a stretch goal for Wii U, PSV, PS3 and PS4 set at £45,000. For more information on the game, check out the trailer below…

Armikrog Hits Wii U Stretch Goal!

UPDATE: It’s exceeded $950,000 with over an hour to go. Armikrog is coming to Wii U in 2014!

UPDATE: 2 Hours, $5000 to go! It’s going to be tight!

UPDATE: 3 Hours, $8000 to go!

UPDATE: 4 Hours, $11,000 to go!

Armikrog is just seven hours away from the end of it’s funding campaign. Last night it managed to cross the $900,000 mark which means the game will be made. However, there is still a bit more to go to make sure 100% this game comes to the Wii U. Pencil Test Studios are asking for an extra $50,000 for the Wii U version which will feature exclusive content, and at time of writiting they just need a little over $16,000.

Fan Petition: Tales of Symphonia: Unisonant Pack

Hot on the heels of last week’s fantastic petition for Guilty Gear Xrd Sign for the Wii U which is now nearing 7000 signatures, comes this new petition for the Tales of Symphonia remake.

Reader Daniel Carvalho from Brazil has created this new petition to let Namco Bandai know just how much we, as Nintendo gamers, want to see Tales of Symphonia land on the Wii U. It’s currently being remade for the PS3, with extra content added, but was originally released on the GameCube where it became the series best selling instalment to date!

Fan Petition: End Wii U Region Locking

region free

Following Microsoft’s shock reversal last week on it’s anti-consumer DRM policies, some Nintendo fans are hoping to persuade Nintendo to end region locking on the Wii U. Since Microsoft changed it’s stance after the public outcry, the Wii U is going to be the only console this generation that will feature region locking.

The movement is not only taking the form of a petition, but it’s also having a presence on Twitter with the hashtags #EndRegionLocking and #NintendoRegionFree and even on Miiverse. There are even calls to barrage Nintendo’s official Facebook accounts.

How do you feel about Nintendo’s stance on region locking?

Platinum Games – Metroid is “Too Great” To Handle

images (1)

Platinum Games is fast becoming the Nintendo gamers go-to development studio for unique high-quality action titles, the like Nintendo seem to be reluctant to deliver themselves. A daring fan has decided to pose the question of a new Metroid to famed producer Hideki Kamiya, who appears to feel a new Metroid game would be beyond him…

Come on Kamiya, I’m sure there’s a couple million of us who would love for you to get your hands on the Metroid, or perhaps even the Starfox license once you’ve finished with The Wonderful 101 and Bayonetta 2.

Creator of Conker Seemingly Working on Wii U

Most of you will be familiar with the N64 game, Conker’s Bad Fur Day. At the time the title proved rather controversial due to its language and adult themes. The game was developed by Rare originally as a 3D platformer, but morphed into an action-adventure game which was high on the fumes of it’s own fart jokes.

Christopher Seavor was the project leader on both Conker’s Bad Fur Day and the Xbox port Conker: Live & Reloaded, but in late 2012 was fired by Rare and has since started work on his own video game project. To date the only information released about the project was “It’s small, only slightly derivative, has some funny moments, two heroes one of whom is extremely bad tempered. And the final level is on Mars.” from an interview with Gamikia. But fortunately for us Chris is quite the vocal tweeter, he has revealed that the Wii U is a big part of his plans…

Fan-Petiton: The Division, for Wii U

Well that didn’t take long, did it? Hot on the heels on what many would call a depressing showing regarding the Wii U’s third party support, Nintendo fan DDanielWW has taken it upon himself to create a petition to get The Division on the Wii U.

Sign the petition here!

For those of you who don’t know, Ubisoft revealed a new Tom Clancy game at this year’s E3 called The Division. The game is said to be a massively multiplayer online tactical shooter action role playing game, developed by Ubisoft Massive. The game has only been announced for the Playstation 4 and Xbox One to date, but following Ubisoft’s continued support of Nintendo, isn’t out of the realm of possibility for the Wii U. The game even makes use of second-screen gameplay and supports a companion app which was demoed at E3 2013 using Microsoft’s SmartGlass technology.

EA – Wii U is an “Opportunity for the Future”, Believe Wii U is Same Generation as Competition

EA shocked the world several weeks ago by revealing they had no plans to develop for the Wii U following their poor launch support, it then emerged recently that they would indeed develop for the console again. Now EA’s President of Labels, Frank Gibeau speaks about the publishers long-term plans

“We have a good partnership with Nintendo. We released four games on the platform over the last year and we’re pretty proud of Need For Speed, and Madden, and FIFA and Mass Effect. We have guys that our looking at the Wii U in the studio system right now as an opportunity for the future, but we have no publicly announced Wii U games that we’re going to release this fall.”

“We’re really excited about the Xbox One and the PS4 and that’s a pretty big endeavor in and of itself. We have four titles out on the Wii U that are active right now, so looking at how things unfold, that’s where our focus is right now.”

Now that’s more like it, EA have maintained they have a strong relationship with Nintendo but have continuously slammed the Wii U, even claiming it doesn’t run Frostbyte 2. Which as we all know is a complete balls-up of the truth.

The source of this information, also confirmed that EA considers the Wii U as part of the same generation as PS4 and Xbox One….

Gibeau added that the developer and publisher does consider the Wii U a generation four console, the generation that includes both the Xbox One and the PlayStation 4.

Shadow of the Eternals Kickstarter Suspended

Shadow of the Eternals 16

Precursor Games CEO Paul Caporicci has just revealed they are suspending the crowd-funding for Shadow of the Eternals.

The full message below was just posted in the comment section of their Kickstarter campaign, and has revealed there are “exciting new developments” which will be revealed in the “coming weeks”, as they relaunch the campaign…

Message to the Community

To our community,

Since we announced this Kickstarter campaign we have seen more support from our community than we had ever hoped for. Along with this support has come a host of a new exciting opportunities that will make the game better than we envisioned. As a result, we have chosen to temporarily take down the Shadow of the Eternals crowdfunding campaigns on both Kickstarter and our own website on Thursday, June 6.

This doesn’t mean we are going away — far from it. We’ll be re-launching the Kickstarter in just a few short weeks with a reveal of these exciting new developments.

As we’re closing the current Kickstarter campaign not a single dime from this campaign will be removed from supporters’ accounts and everyone from our website’s crowdfunding campaign will receive full refunds via PayPal. As we re-tool our campaign and continue development, the forums on our site will remain open and active and any interested fans can still join the ‘Order of the Unseen’to see our progress and join in the fun of creating content for the game themselves.

We want to thank everyone who has participated, volunteered, and spoken up to support us. You are our community and we value you more than you know. Stay tuned and we’ll be back soon!

– Paul Caporicci + Precursor team

We’ve yet to hear any rumblings of what this may entail, but it would most likely be the game going mutli-platform and receiving releases on Xbox and Playstation consoles as well as the original Wii U and PC platforms. It is clear the game has not been picked up by a publisher, as they wouldn’t be relaunching their Kickstarter in a few weeks.

You can visit the Kickstarter campaign here.

Rumour: “How to Survive” Coming to Wii U eShop

Could 505 Game’s Zombie survival game “How to Survive” be coming to the Wii U eShop? According to E3Insider, the game is indeed coming our way, as it’s linked directly via Nintendo of America’s Games & Products.

Originally announced just four days ago for PC, PS3 and 360, 505 describe the game…

Featuring a robust crafting system, unique survival guide and a host of playable characters, How to Survive strands players on a remote archipelago off the coast of Colombia in the aftermath of an unexplained accident … but you’re not alone. In order to survive, you must fulfill the most basic of needs – seeking out food, water and shelter, as well as crafting dozens of tools and weapons from fishing rods to Molotov cocktails. Players can also team up with other survivors in local and online multiplayer story and challenge modes to take on a growing array of the infected.

If “How to Survive” is indeed confirmed for Wii U release, or even if it turns out to be false, this post will be updated accordingly. Watch this space.
