As of 30th June, Project Sora is no more! What does this mean for Smash Bros?

According to the companies official website, they have been dissolved as of 30th June 2012, the website will close on 31st July. Project Sora was formed in 2009 by Masahiro Sakurai with funding from Nintendo, they developed Kid Icarus: Uprising for the 3DS and had been developing new iterations in the Smash Bros series for the 3DS and Wii U. It was less than a month ago that Nintendo confirmed Sora were working on the title with Namco-Bandai and Namco-Bandai Games.

The two new Smash Bros games will now be solely developed by the two Namco-Bandai studios with Sakurai stearing them in the right direction. Both games are expected to launch late next year after the debut at E3 2013.
